a dealer network -- similar to the application described for
Mitsubishi. This is in pilot and

uses ViewMax to convert videotext datastreams into AS/400 5250

with the new AS400 business systems for order processing, account
status etc.

Tatung
Tatung
UK distributes monitors and VDU volume product from a centralized
distribution center in the UK. This is a true electronic commerce
application interfacing EDI with a midrange system without modifying
any legacy code using the ViewMax API -- there is no browser
interface. EDI messages are sent to the server which translates
them into a flat file. ViewMax then presents the data (purchase
orders) into the fields of a screen based order processing and
inventory control application running on Tatung's AS/400. The
response from the AS/400 is converted back into a flat file
which is then translated into an EDI message (an order acknowledgment).
ViewMax
and the translator software both run on the same NT 4.0 Intel
platform. This solution was approximately half of the cost
for a pure AS/400 EDI solution and didn't require any of the
serious reprogramming and workflow disruption that instituting
a typical EDI solution entails. In addition, Tatung now have
the basics in place to integrate other ancillary applications,
such as their barcode inventory tracking application and, in
time, a dealer Extranet E-commerce capability.

-- which are still being stored in the PAS system. ViewMax is
providing greatly improved ease of use -- allowing more accurate
recording, reduced staff training costs, and lower costs of
desktop computing for data entry staff. The server used
is Compaq with NT 4.0. The ViewMax license is 150 concurrent
users.

their dealer services through one interface. ViewMax runs
