Announces Wireless E-Business Solution for BlackBerry Users
ViewMax®
Solution to Connect BlackBerry Handheld Devices to Mainframe,
Midrange, and UNIX® Applications Via Wireless Internet Access
September 11, 2000, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com),
a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer
of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced that its
integration software, ViewMax, now supports wireless access to
mainframe, midrange, and UNIX applications via the BlackBerry
wireless email solution from Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM).
The
ViewMax solution will seamlessly connect any enterprise system,
or "green screen," computer application to the popular BlackBerry
handheld, which recently won the 2000 PC World World Class Award
for best wireless communication device.
MODCOMP's
BlackBerry support is the most recent addition to its suite of
mobile business (M-business) solutions, which include Palm VII
access and development of a WAP66 Portal Server, the first
server solution to make existing enterprise data available for
M-business using wireless access protocol (WAP).
"By
supporting the BlackBerry operating system, we help a host of
mobile professionals gain wireless access to critical real-time
data from their enterprise applications while simultaneously expanding
our reach into the mobile market," said Rob Crigler, vice president
of sales and marketing, MODCOMP E-commerce Division. "Since we
already support WAP-enabled devices as well as the Palm VII, the
next logical step was for us to add BlackBerry support to our
ever-growing M-business suite."
Standard
pricing for ViewMax begins at $10,000 (U.S.) plus configuration
services and user licensing.
