MODCOMP's
ViewMax Seamlessly Integrates EDI Feeds into Legacy Systems Without
Requiring Any Reprogramming of the Legacy Application Code
September
9, 1997, Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- ViewMax, MODCOMP's total integration
solution that bridges legacy systems with Web technology, can
now integrate EDI messages seamlessly into legacy systems. What
makes this approach different than other EDI solutions is that
ViewMax does not require any modifications to the existing application
code.
This
EDI integration is achieved through the use of the ViewMax API.
An EDI message, transferred from a VAN is converted to a flat
file using standard translation software. The API program is used
to feed the flat file into ViewMax. ViewMax takes in that file,
navigates through the mainframe or host application populating
the proper fields with the data, and generates an EDI acknowledgement.
Because ViewMax interfaces at the application level functioning
as a virtual user there is no need to modify the application
code.
"The
challenge for many companies who have wanted to implement EDI
has been the required extensive reengineering of their IT systems,"
stated John Clary, president of MODCOMP, Inc. "It is both
expensive and risky. ViewMax offers an non-intrusive way to integrate
EDI into your business systems. And at the same time, builds the
foundation for more extensive electronic commerce and data access."
ViewMax
ViewMax enables companies to improve the interface to their trusted
IT systems without modifying the underlying legacy application
code -- providing the ultimate in risk-free integration and network
enhancement.
Both
flexible and scaleable, ViewMax provides:
a
cost-effective, rapidly implemented application solution
which preserves current IT systems investments, extending their
life cycle and capabilities with a new technology interface
in a matter of weeks.
controlled
access -- during the implementation of ViewMax the company
determines who can access what information,
and where they can access an intranet LAN, an intranet
or extranet WAN, or the Internet.
a
new, user-friendly interface to legacy systems, allowing
easy access through an intuitive, point-and-click standard web
interface.
one
standard interface to multiple disparate systems -- allowing
the combined information from several different terminal screens,
applications and/or systems to be presented on a single web
page.
full
interaction -- not just for publishing information from
back-end systems, ViewMax allows selected information to be
published for users to see, interact with, transact with and
submit updates back to host systems -- all in real-time.
security
-- by controlling the information that is displayed and the
host sessions, ViewMax accesses and transacts with IT systems
on behalf of the user -- eliminating the opportunity to access
unpublished data or tamper with back-end systems.
robust
session control -- ensures dependable state environment
even for remote users across the Internet.
