Golf & Business Club Henri Chapelle Selects WAP66™ Portal Server as Its Platform for Wireless Reservation System

WAP-based Web Solution Lets Golfers Schedule Tee Times with a Cell Phone

FT. LAUDERDALE — Feb. 29, 2000 — MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com), a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced the first golf reservation system that allows players to reserve tee times with a cell phone using a wireless access protocol (WAP) solution.

The Golf & Business Club Henri Chapelle of Belgium will use MODCOMP's new WAP66 Portal Server to allow members and guests to view available start times and make real-time reservations with a cell phone or other WAP device. Henri Chapelle will provide club members with a special access code that makes personal information like name, address, and handicap permanently available when using the reservation system.

MODCOMP will debut the beta version of the reservation system in the U.S. this week at the Internet & Electronic Commerce Conference and Exposition in New York.

"Intelligent solutions like WAP66 enable companies to address the growing need for WAP-based business and commerce," said Rob Crigler, vice president marketing, MODCOMP E-commerce Division. "We are pleased to provide M-business solutions that enhance business performance and touch the everyday lives of consumers."

"M-business technology is just beginning to take off, and Europe is leading the way," said Ed Acly, Director of Middleware and Businessware Research with International Data Corporation. "We expect to see tremendous opportunity and growth within this segment of the industry as WAP-based technology is assimilated into the mainstream."

Wireless access protocol is a transport mechanism that enables mobile devices to communicate with the Internet using a built-in Air-Interface. MODCOMP's WAP66 Portal Server creates a mobile business (M-business) environment where users can access the Internet and company intranets any time from anywhere.

Developed by MODCOMP's German subsidiary, WAP66 Portal Server is user-friendly and easily configured software for portal solutions, based completely on the Java2 technology. WAP66 supports many different systems including mid-range, mainframe, and UNIX® systems, and may interact with systems that support ASCII, HTML, XML, as well as SQL queries or any other ODBC databases that are typically found in diverse IT environments. WAP66 also supports virtually all hardware platforms and operating systems, including Linux™, Solaris™, HP-UX®, AIX®, and Windows NT™.

WAP66 is available from MODCOMP GmbH following a launch at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany (Feb. 24-Mar. 1). Standard pricing begins at $5,000.00 plus configuration services and user licensing.
