Inghams Selects MODCOMP to Provide First Online Ski Vacation Booking Service in the UK

Web-based Solution Lets Skiers Reserve Top-Notch Trips in Real-time

January 26, 2000, Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- MODCOMP, Inc., (www.modcomp.com), a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer of E-commerce solutions, has announced that INGHAMS (www.inghams.co.uk) -- a subsidiary of HOTELPLAN Group, Switzerland -- has used MODCOMP's ViewMax Web-to-host solution to provide customers with direct online access to its ski holiday reservation system.

Skiing enthusiasts in the United Kingdom are familiar with the range of top quality skiing holidays in Europe and North America offered by Inghams -- Britain's largest independent ski-tour operator. Maintaining this strong position in the market by offering customers an online booking service is a key strategic objective for Inghams.

The ViewMax solution provided by MODCOMP is based on a three-tier architecture using a standard browser as the client interface, connecting to a Web server over the Internet. ViewMax provides the connectivity between the Web server and the mainframe reservation system.

The MODCOMP ViewMax solution -- which went live at the end of September 1999 -- has given Inghams customers the ability to book their ski holidays 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere in the world.

"We are happy to help Inghams get their reservations system out on the Web and reach their business objectives," said Rob Crigler, vice president of marketing for MODCOMP's E-Commerce Division. "The results show that Inghams customers really appreciate this new service."

The new Inghams system has processed approximately 2000 ski vacation bookings within three months of live operation.

"The speed of uptake from our clients has taken us all by surprise," said Laurence Hicks, sales manager, Inghams. "Confidence in our E-commerce strategy using MODCOMP as a solutions partner has been totally justified."

MODCOMP provided the ViewMax software, project management, application integration, installation, training, documentation and 24 x 7 support for this mission critical E-commerce project.
