ITT
Industries Night Vision Uses MODCOMP's Integration Solution to Streamline
Supply Chain Management
ViewMax®
Provides Product and Inventory Control Personnel with Web Access
to Strategic Real-time Production and Supply Information
January
4, 2001, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com),
a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer
of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced that ITT
Industries Night Vision, a division of ITT Industries, Inc. (NYSE:
IIN) and a leading manufacturer of night vision systems for U.S.
armed and allied forces, will implement MODCOMP's ViewMax Web-to-Host
solution to offer its Product and Inventory Control Department Web
access to the department's legacy system.
ITT
Night Vision will use the ViewMax solution to access real-time product
and inventory control information from the department's MRP II legacy
systems. A Web browser will now serve to consolidate multiple interfaces
and enable their personnel to retrieve order issues, transfer information,
and generate stockroom receipts through a user-friendly, point-and-click
screen. Instant access to product component and inventory information
will enable ITT Night Vision to better manage the supply of components
and optimize the order fulfillment process.
"By
integrating our technology, ITT Night Vision employees will have
secure access to the information they need to streamline production
efficiencies and provide a quicker product turn-around," said Rob
Crigler, vice president of sales and marketing for MODCOMP's E-commerce
Division. "This solution provides them a valuable link to better
customer service."
ITT
Night Vision chose to implement MODCOMP's ViewMax technology after
a product demonstration last year.
"We
were impressed with the way ViewMax easily allows us to access the
legacy system through a Web front, and how quickly the technology
could be integrated with our systems," said Tim Conway, Information
Systems Director of ITT Industries Night Vision. "Our staff will
now have instant and easy access to the production and inventory
information which they need to expedite orders." ITT Night Vision
fully implemented the solution in November 2000.
