CSP
Inc. Announces E-Commerce Solution for Enterprise Linux
ViewMax
Supports Open Source Alternative for Systems Integration; Software
Integrates Legacy Systems and Internal Programs to the Web Without
Changing Data
Ft.
Lauderdale, FL. Dec. 6, 1999 MODCOMP, Inc. (www.modcomp.com),
a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer
of systems integration solutions, has announced that its ViewMax
Web-to-host solution now supports the Linux operating system,
presenting an open source alternative for integrating e-commerce
applications with existing enterprise legacy systems.
MODCOMP,
which uses ViewMax to provide turn-key e-commerce integration
solutions on a variety of operating systems, extended its development
and implementation services to the Linux platform to address
the enterprise needs of the growing Linux community.
"ViewMax
lets enterprise Linux users retain their current business environment
while simultaneously integrating existing mainframe, midrange,
or UNIX systems to e-commerce front-ends or to the Internet,"
said Rob Crigler, vice president of Internet marketing, E-Commerce
Division, MODCOMP, Inc. "More and more companies are adopting
Linux as their corporate computing platform for its flexibility
and low cost of ownership, and we are happy to offer them an
e-commerce solution that meets these needs.
"Because
ViewMax connects to existing enterprise systems via a terminal
interface, it allows MODCOMP to integrate legacy systems and
internal programs to e-commerce front-ends without changing
any of the existing legacy code a capability that
Linux users can especially appreciate," said Crigler. "Companies
using e-commerce solutions based on ViewMax find that it is
extremely flexible, quick to implement, and easy to maintain."
MODCOMP's
experienced development and implementation staff uses ViewMax
to develop e-commerce solutions and complete basic integration
projects within a matter of weeks.
