MDinTouch
to Provide Desktop and Wireless Internet Integration of Medical
Information for Better Patient Care Using MODCOMP E-Business Solution
Healthcare
ASP Creates Desktop and Wireless Internet Workflow Tools to Improve
Information Delivery Time for Femwell Diagnostics Center
December
5, 2000, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com),
a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer
of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced that MDinTouch
Inc. (www.mdintouch.com) has selected MODCOMP's ViewMax® integration
software to provide Femwell Diagnostic Center of Miami, Florida,
online access to vital medical information, such as patient demographics
and ordering information. The healthcare ASP will be able to offer
desktop and wireless Internet access that enables doctors to review,
sign, and automatically route medical transcriptions quickly through
a Web browser on an office and/or home based desktop computer and
mobile handheld devices, such as a WAP phone or Palm VII®.
MDinTouch
customers will improve information delivery time and cost savings
by moving away from slower courier and expensive telephone systems
to a cost-efficient online communication system.
"We
are allowing Femwell physicians and employees secure and instant
access to time-critical medical information that they need." said
Kent Wreder, CEO of MDinTouch Inc. "By implementing a network that
allows desktop and mobile online access to the enterprise system,
our clients will be able to improve patient care by having the ability
to instantaneously access medical information. These improvements
to productivity and efficiency will reduce associated operating
costs by utilizing online access to time-critical medical information."
Like
many ASPs involved in E-business, MDinTouch has realized the difficulty
of integrating its customer's existing legacy systems to the Internet.
By using MODCOMP's ViewMax solution, Femwell will be able to access
patient demographics from any legacy system.
"A
healthcare ASP like MDinTouch needs a quick solution to help their
customers keep pace with today's expectations for instant information
access," said Rob Crigler, vice president of sales and marketing,
MODCOMP's E-commerce Division. "Our technology will give them a
true competitive advantage."
MDinTouch
fully implemented the solution for Femwell Diagnostic Center in
early November 2000.
