Northeastern
University Selects MODCOMP Web Solution for Self-Service Change
of Address Interface
ViewMax®
Solution Enables Students to Update Information Instantly Via
University Web Site
April
20, 2000, Ft. Lauderdale, FL MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com),
a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) and a leading developer
of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced that
Northeastern University will implement MODCOMP's ViewMax Web-to-Host
solution to offer self-service address change capabilities to
its students via its Web site.
Northeastern
will use the ViewMax solution to establish Web access to the
university computer server where student information is stored.
Currently, students are required to complete and submit a paper
form through the Registrar's office. The change of address data
is then manually updated at a later time through a time-intensive
data entry process. The new student change of address system
is part of a larger initiative of Northeastern projects that
promote Internet-based self-service for its students and staff.
In all, MODCOMP expects the university to implement its Web
solution for nearly 50 of these projects over the next two to
three years.
"This
self-service solution empowers university students and employees
with secure information access at any time and from anywhere,"
said Rob Crigler, vice president marketing, MODCOMP E-commerce
Division. "We look forward to helping Northeastern establish
a completely Web-based information resource that will benefit
everyone associated with the university."
MODCOMP
consultants will work with Northeastern IT staff over the next
two weeks to implement the web-based change of address application
for the IBM 2003-24 mainframe.
"The
address change functionality will be useful for students to
inform the university of their location while on co-op," stated
Paul Pagliarulo, Director of Administrative Computer Services.
"The web-based address change will be especially useful at the
end of the spring term, as students start to make decisions
on their living arrangements for the next year."
Northeastern
expects to offer the change of address service to its students
as early as the Fall semester.
