Voice

VoIP is the transmission of voice communications via standards-based Internet Protocol (IP) – i.e. existing data networks -- rather than over standard phone lines. This category of hardware and software enables businesses to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls by sending voice data in packets using IP rather than by traditional circuit transmissions of the PSTN. One advantage of VoIP is that the telephone calls over the Internet do not incur a surcharge beyond what the organization is already paying for Internet access, just as your firm doesn't pay for sending individual e-mails.

As a long-overdue replacement for decades-old PBX technology, small and large businesses alike are implementing IP Telephony not only to help control costs, but also to increase efficiency and functionality on the business side.

Deployment, maintenance, and operating costs of a VoIP solution are much lower than PBX-based systems. Businesses can reap major telecommunications cost savings by integrating voice traffic over the network, especially the costs typically associated with deploying or relocating employee phone systems. Using VoIP also results in the integration of your existing communications systems like instant messaging (IM), email, and other communications applications effectively, offering a total and seamless communications experience.

VoIP and other telephony solutions will save your organization money versus the cost of traditional telephony systems; connect your employees quickly and efficiently, no matter their location; and are cost-effectively expandable and faster when it comes to adding additional phone lines.

Modcomp will identify service-level improvements and cost savings we can achieve for you, and identify existing messaging applications such as email and IM that we will integrate with your telephony systems.
