MODCOMP Licenses AccessPoint Source Code -- Extends Company's SCADA Systems Integration Reach

September 22, 1998, Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- MODCOMP, Inc., a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI), a leading real-time computer systems provider and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems integrator, announced that they have completed an agreement to license AccessPoint source code from AccessWare, Inc. of Houston, Texas. AccessPoint is a family of distributed, multi-user, multi-tasking, supervisory process monitoring and control software products with a graphically enhanced MMI and a menu-driven configurable interface. Under the terms of the agreement, MODCOMP has full discretion to enhance and further develop AccessWare's AccessPoint technology including integration with the company's REAL/IX PX real-time operating system.

John Clary, president and CEO of MODCOMP, commented, "AccessPoint both complements and extends our real-time systems software product lines. Our strength and experience in the markets we serve, coupled with our reputation for high-performance robust systems, benefits our customers in price/performance as well as with an exceptional return on their investment."

Michael Duvall, MODCOMP's marketing manager of process control and data acquisition, added, "Having both the source code of the REAL/IX PX real-time operating system and the AccessPoint full-featured SCADA application software package are an enormous benefit to our customers. Not only does this protect our customers' investments from product obsolescence, but this also provides them with peace of mind with respect to long-term support issues. Furthermore, it allows us to enhance, extend and evolve AccessPoint to meet the future needs of our customers."
