New
extension automates the modernization of legacy systems, dramatically
reducing development time and engineering costs
September 26, 2001, Fort Lauderdale, FL - MODCOMP®, Inc.
(www.modcomp.com), a leading architect of legacy application extension
solutions and a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI), today introduced
ViewMax Instant Integrator, a new extension of the ViewMax®
development environment designed to generate HTML pages from legacy
applications quickly and error free. Instant Integrator provides
web-to-host solution developers a browser-based screen recording
tool that translates green-screens into editable HTML pages instantly,
on the fly. This new tool makes it possible for companies to modernize
their legacy applications with easy to use web-based interfaces.
Integration can be accomplished in a fraction of the time previously
required with a high degree of accuracy.
The
ViewMax Instant Integrator generates and delivers HTML pages,
navigation scripts, and defined input fields automatically without
diminishing the developer's ability to customize, edit, and modify
that code. Via the multiple frame interface, the developer sees
an HTML version of the host screen; a screen recorder that records
and displays all the logic required for navigating the host system;
and a data field monitor that defines and names all data fields
on the host screen as the developer navigates through the system.
Instead of building legacy enabled HTML pages manually (from scratch),
developers can use ViewMax Instant Integrator to generate multiple
HTML pages effortlessly through this automated host screen translation
process. Additionally, the ViewMax Instant Integrator reduces
debugging and testing time.
"Instant
Integrator adds a new dimension to our ViewMax development environment,"
said Rob Crigler, MODCOMP's eCommerce division vice president
of sales and marketing. "The ViewMax Instant Integrator offers
substantial savings by significantly lowering development time
on integration projects, particularly those that require extensive
use of multiple host screens and fields. We expect Instant Integrator
to shave an average of 50% off development time on these types
of projects."
ViewMax
Instant Integrator will be included in the ViewMax software development
kit beginning in the 4th quarter of 2001.
