Legacy Resource Adapter Employs J2EE Connector Architecture Standard To Expedite the Implementation of Complex Integration Solutions

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla, October 30th, 2002 - MODCOMP®, Inc. (www.modcomp.com), a leading architect of legacy extension solutions and a subsidiary of CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI), announced today that it has released its new J2EE Legacy Adapter for BEA's WebLogic Server™. Utilizing the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) standard, ViewMax®JCA extends BEA WebLogic's legacy connectivity capabilities. This new release enables developers to quickly build new collaborative applications and transactional systems as well as enhance the workflow of existing applications by simplifying the interchange of data from existing legacy systems

Leveraging the industry's leading application server platform, the BEA WebLogic Server, ViewMaxJCA adapter provides an open standards interface that allows MODCOMP to rapidly create applications that incorporate functionality and data from any legacy resource via VT100-420, 3270, and 5250 terminal types and share those data via JCA. This seamless integration framework offers enterprise clients enhanced interoperability and extended functionality for their diverse IT environments.

"Tight IT budgets are forcing enterprise customers to make the most of their existing systems. By incorporating open standards, we provide our customers with beneficial new technology in a way that assures them future adaptability and growth," said Rob Crigler, MODCOMP's eCommerce division vice president of sales and marketing. "MODCOMP became a BEA Star Partner earlier this year, and this release gives us a significant competitive advantage over other systems integrators as we are one of the few legacy extension vendors to offer a JCA option for integrating enterprise companies' legacy systems with the latest BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform™."

ViewMaxJCA is available now and bundled with ViewMax version 6.1. Standard pricing for ViewMax starts at $10,000 (U.S.) plus configuration services and user licensing.
